I am an evolutionary anthropologist interested in humans’ adaptations to culturally-structured worlds. My two primary lines of research are:
1) Social cognition and intergroup relations and
2) reproductive decision making.
For the former, I’ve focused on the way people think about ethno-linguistic boundaries. I’ve done long term ethnographic, psychological and developmental research in the Peruvian altiplano along the Quechua-Aymara linguistic border. The latter primarily involves systematic cross-cultural analysis with collaborators and existing datasets.
