I am a Human Behavioral Ecologist and Cultural Anthropologist interested in the interactions that take place within the human pair bond regarding parental investment and household economics. I primarily use quantitative methods to answer questions about human behavior in these realms. I also study how the health and reproductive outcomes of parental and economic behaviors. I work with the Shodagor of rural Bangladesh who are a semi-nomadic, boat-dwelling group living in unique ecological circumstances that influence how parents work together to allocate time to childcare and economic production and how they rely on help from others. I am also interested in marriage patterns, particularly polyandry, and have examined the prevalence of polyandry around the world.
