The Minerva Research Group for Bioinformatics (Janet Kelso)

The focus of the bioinformatics group is to use computational approaches to gain an insight into genome evolution in primates.

The group provides data management and analysis support for other groups in the department, as well as undertaking independent research projects. Staff programmers are responsible for the development and maintenance of databases for various projects such as the gene expression analyses, and the Bonobo and Neandertal genome sequencing projects. Additionally these programmers are responsible for contributing to the development of software pipelines for processing the data from expression platforms and sequencing projects, as well as running these pipelines.
