Daniel Voigt studied Computer Science at Chemnitz University of Technology with a major in Artificial Intelligence, where he finished his diploma thesis on “A Computational Model for the Cognitive Immune System Theory Based on Learning Classifier Systems”. From 2007-2010, he worked as a junior researcher in the Computational Medicine research group at the Department of Phoniatrics and Pediatric Audiology, University Hospital Erlangen. In 2010, he received his Ph.D. in engineering science from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. The focus of his dissertation work was on “Objective Analysis and Classification of Vocal Fold Dynamics from Laryngeal High-speed Recordings”.
He is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Linguistics, Phonetics Laboratory, investigating language universals and cross-linguistic sound pattern variation of the World's languages.
