I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Language, Linguistics and Philosophy at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Currently, I am in Leipzig, Germany on a two-year Ph.D. fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.

My present work focuses on the substrate lexicon in Jamaican Creole which has me exploring sub-areas such as etymology, lexicography, morphology, typology, lexical semantics, loanword patterns, and other interesting stuff.

For a lighter side to my hectic life see my personal blog Walk-Bout Jamaican Bwoy
