Sabine Stoll received her Ph. D. on The Acquisition of Russian Aspect in 2001 from the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2001 she has been working at the MPI for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig.
Her research focuses on crosslinguistic language acquisition, comparing the acquisition of typologically diverse languages. The main question of her research is whether typological differences influence the pathways in which grammar is acquired. Thereby the role and nature of child directed speech is taken into special consideration in studying longitudinal data.
