Antje Hutschenreuther I am a medical laboratory assistant and biologist with a botanical, ecological and microbiological background. My responsibilities are daily lab organization and giving administrative and basic technical support to our group members.   This includes microscopy and morphologic description of starch grains and phytoliths as well as phytolith extraction and quantification for the modern plant reference collection.
I will be involved in projects concerning starch degradation in soil that comprise starch extraction from sediments and stone tools and starch quantification (microscopic and photometric). Besides that I am also involved in the identification of plant species and lipid extraction from plant material.  Testing of new lab procedures and protocols are also part of my work.
