The Goualougo Triangle Chimpanzee Project (GTCP) was initiated in an area known as the Goualougo Triangle, which is located in the Sangha region of the northern Republic of Congo The main goals of the GTCP are to enhance our knowledge of the central subspecies of chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes troglodytes) and improve the conservation status of this ape throughout central Africa.

The Loango Ape Project was started in January 2005. The overall goals of this project are to habituate chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes troglodytes) and western gorillas (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) in Loango National Park, Gabon to (i) understand their ecology, behavior, culture, demography, population dynamics, and health status and (ii) to provide ape viewing for ecotourists.
