Selected Past and Current Projects

As a statistician, I work with researchers to prepare, analyze and/or present their data. My work focuses primarily on projects from the primatology and psychology departments. Some of my past and current projects include the following:

  • Spatial heterogeneity in socio-economic conditions predicts patterns of species richness and chimpanzee abundance across a complex regional landscape in West Africa
  • Understanding the socioendocrinology of female affiliation and cooperation in bonobos
  • Investigating the presence and extent of sexual coercion in mountain gorillas
  • Paleoepidemiological analysis of health differences between prehistoric migrants and locals from two late Roman burial sites.
  • Group-, male- and female-level factors that influence the occurrence of extra-group paternities in Rhesus macaques
  • Investigating species differences in bipedal locomotion between chimpanzees and bonobos
  • Children’s argumentation in peer interactions
  • Evaluation of the conservation education activities of the Wild Chimpanzee Foundation in German schools
