• identify hotspots of high biodiversity
• livelihood alternatives for unsustainable use of wildlife
• evaluate existing management strategies and conservation actions
• propose management plans and conservation actions based on research findings
• design, organize, manage and analyze bio-monitoring programs
• GIS data analysis and spatial ecology of wildlife
• optimize and validate line transect survey methods like nest counts
• estimate densities, population sizes and status of large mammals like chimpanzees
• study population density changes as a result of natural or human induced factors
• anthropogenic impact studies on biodiversity and the distribution of large mammals
