The central Congo basin or Cuvette Centrale is part
of the territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
(yellow line). Research
and conservation on flora and fauna is under the jurisdiction
of this country. Several reserves exist at the north-eastern
border of the DRC, but the largest protected area is the Salonga
National Park in the centre of the country (red line). |
