About me

I am a PhD student in the Leipzig School of Human Origins, a joint program of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology with the University of Leipzig's Interdisciplinary Center for Bioinformatics. In my PhD, I develop algorithmic and computational methods for reconstructing and comparing language histories. My research integrates traditional linguistic approaches—like the comparative method, typological theory, and fieldwork—into transparent, monitorable computational workflows. I am also interested in language documentation and building accessible and utilizable resources for language comparison. More broadly, my research investigates the diachronic interplay between cognition, diversity, migration, and contact in South American societies from an interdisciplinary perspective.
