I am a quantitative anthropologist with an interest in mathematical models of human behavior in cultural and ecological context. I try to bridge the gap between pure and applied research—I enjoy learning for the sake of learning, but I try to work on topics that also have applications and value to people outside of academia. I am currently developing a longitudinal field site on the Pacific coast of Colombia where I will study the interactions between ecological and social change, wealth inequality, and social network structure.
