Research Interests

Hominin behavioral and cultural evolution. North Africa, southwest Asia, southern Europe. Stone artifact archaeology.

Main research projects

  • Ain Difla, Wadi Hasa, Jordan. Hominin adaptation during the Middle-to-Late Pleistocene in the southern Jordan Rift Valley and their inter-regional biogeography.
  • North Butana Paleolandscape, Sudan. Landscape use and expansion of early Homo sapiens in northeast Africa.
  • East Sabaloka, Sudan. Emergence of food production and sedentism in the Sahel zone of the Nile Valley.
