I am a biologist specialising in molecular and chemical ecology. I am intrigued by the resilience of wild, endangered species and wish to solve challenging questions at the intersection of genetics, demography and behaviour. I studied Zoology in my Bachelor's and Biochemistry in my Master's at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. My PhD research at National Centre for Biological Sciences-TIFR focused on studying inbreeding in tigers using non-invasive genomic data and creating long-term genetic and demographic datasets. As a 2020 National Geographic Explorer, I studied biological signatures in odours sampled from wild tiger populations. Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher within the Department of Primate Behaviour and Evolution at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, I am studying inbreeding dynamics in great apes, combining genomic and demographic approaches.
