Genetic variation can facilitate diverse responses to the same environmental stimuli, thereby shaping phenotypic variation. What are molecular mechanisms of genotype-environment interactions? How is context-dependent gene expression shaped during the evolution of humans and nonhuman primates? With my background in functional genomics, genome editing techniques and evolutionary genetics, I develop cell culture assays to study these interactions at both population and evolutionary scales. Ultimately, my goal is to deepen our understanding of genotype-phenotype relationships and their evolution in primates.
