%X This chapter reviews the key properties, structure, and function of two dental tissues, dentine and cementum. These two tissues are unique in that, unlike enamel, they continue to model after the tooth has erupted. The structures of dentine and cementum reveal valuable anthropological information, such as the way in which individuals used their teeth, their exposure to environmental toxins, and how old they were when they died.
