As per instructions, if you copied the directory "WALSwin" from the CD to your Windows machine, unfortunately on some Windows versions any files which are copied from CD are automatically made read-only. This means that although the software opens with no problems, you will be unable to carry out a large number of operations because the software is unable to write anything to the database files. The solution to this is to right-click on the directory "WALSwin", go to Properties, and make sure that Read-only is deselected. After that everything should work fine.
