The traditional knowledge of indigenous people disappears. The project intends to document the remaining traditional knowledge, to contribute scientific aspects such as taxonomy and chemistry, and dispose it for the use of current and future generations.

Due to a renunciation of habits connected to local traditions by the younger generation, the lack of written documentation, the advance of Biomedicine and other blessings and curses of civilisation, the treasure of traditional knowledge is about to die together with the older generation.

Proximate focus is on the conservation of this knowledge, on the suggestion of methods of sustainable harvesting and the attempt to ease accessibility within the country of origin. Ultimately we hope to single out factors that may help to contribute not only to a local, but also to a global benefit.
