The Site
Since 2002, the field site LuiKotal, in the SW of SNP, is continuously operating.
The Campsite, LuiKotal (du Lomongo/Lonkundo Loyik’otalé = long life), is situated south of the Lokoro river at S- 02° 45.6’, and E- 20° 22.7’.
Its starting point for a trail system that comprises 57 km of standardized & non standardized trail covering an area of about 100 km
2
.
In this area the project operates continuously since 2002.
In addition, research has focused on sites outside this study area, obtaining insight into habitats 25km further south & north.
