Research Interests
I have a background in computer science and evolutionary modelling. My work involves developing new software to provide researchers with a flexible framework for specifying, running and comparing models to answer a very broad range of questions in cultural and demographic co-evolution. I work with the Birthrites group (Heidi Colleran), Waves ERC (Adam Powell) and Richard McElreath.
I've previously worked on the evolution of host-pathogen interactions in the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum, and developed software to support research on atmosphere-ocean gas transfer using satellite remote sensing data. My research interests are broad (and sometimes disconnected!) but I am especially interested in the evolution of group behaviour, cultural evolution and how interactions between individuals scale up to produce large emergent phenomena. I'm very open to potential collaborations or informal chats about just about anything, so please feel free to get in touch.
