Descriptive linguistic content is still usually presented in book form. This project explored ways how descriptive grammars could be published on the Internet. In a trivial sense, this can be made by publishing a pdf on the author's homepage. Electronic publishing, however, allows for more than just calques of printed books. Hyperlinks, versioning, inclusion of multimedia content and interactions with readers are some topics which come to mind.

The project looked at best practices applied in published grammars and formulate a general XML-schema from them. Legacy grammars can then be converted to this schema. The project also aimed at providing a software platform for prospective grammar writers, where an easy way to write standards-compliant grammars would be provided. The ultimate goal was a convergence between legacy and future grammars, which could be queried at the same time.
