CCP Bead Dispenser

To keep human and non-human primates motivated when running studies, many studies reward their participants with an item. This can either be a food item or some non-food  item. Moreover, a study may require releasing more reward items for more challenging tasks. As experimenters focus on their standardized experimental procedure, providing reward items in parallel can be cumbersome. To automate this process, we started developing in-house dispensers for humans and great apes.

The first iteration of the dispenser was designed for humans. As reward items, we used little plastic beads which participants needed to collect. We have open-sourced the 3d models, construction manual, and the source code to GitHub.
