I am interested in the evolution of social and mating systems and the boundaries between conflict and cooperation. I am exploring patterns of dominance, aggression and affiliation as well as questions related to sexual conflict - to date mostly in primates. Currently, I am using long-term observational individual-centered data to study the variation in social relationships among gorillas and make comparisons between the two gorilla species.
