Molecular Anthropology

The Molecular Anthropology group works at the interface of archaeology, anthropology, human genetics, medical and forensic sciences, and linguistics.
Our main aim is to investigate and evaluate ancient human genome-wide data in the light of data from neighboring disciplines to generate a detailed portrait of human prehistory over the last 20,000 years.
Our research portfolio ranges from global outlooks on population affinities, mobility, migrations and past demography to intra-group relationships. We also study the interaction with, exposure and response to changing external factors, such as environment, climate, diet, and disease.
