Thesis title: Exploring the Evolution and Ontogeny of Imitation and Abstraction: A Hierarchical Bayesian Modelling Approach
Research Interests
I am interested in the question of how humans, and especially human children learn so efficiently.
To better understand the structure and interaction of the underlying cognitive processes my research focuses on comparing them across primate species, age, cultural groups as well as computational models.
My PhD examined children’s, capuchin monkeys’ and chimpanzees’ abilities for social learning and
the formation of abstract concepts. The latter is a topic I will also focus on in my postdoctoral research with the aim to gain further insights into the causes of population differences in abstract relational reasoning.
