About me

I am an evolutionary ecologist studying animal behavior and cultural traditions. My research aims to understand how animal societies, and the individuals that comprise them, evolve and adapt their behaviors to changing environmental and social conditions. My taxonomic focus includes primates and birds. The questions I address have focused on mating, social, and dispersal systems, as well as on innovation, social learning, and cultural traditions. Current research is focused on initiating a new field site dedicated to understanding the socioecology of the white-fronted capuchin (Cebus malitiosus) in Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona, Colombia.
