Mediation

The Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology strives to be a workplace where all employees feel welcome and appreciated for who they are. All employees are encouraged and expected to contribute to the resolution of conflicts in a proactive, balanced and fair manner.

To complement the work of the Directors and Group Leaders on these issues, as well as the work of the Ombudsperson for scientific integrity and the Equal Opportunities Commissioner, the Institute Mediator is elected by all employees of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology every four years.

The Institute Mediator offers advice and help on issues which include (but are not limited to) interpersonal conflicts, scientific integrity, biases or harassment based on sex, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or age.
