The Department of Comparative Cultural Psychology at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (MPI-EVA) is part of „The Max Planck School of Cognition“.

The Max Planck School of Cognition is a highly competitive doctoral program offering outstanding students a superior grasp of the different methods and approaches to better understand human and non-human cognition.

The program consists of an orientation year (basic courses, lab rotations) followed by three years of research for the doctorate and is fully financed. For more information follow this link: https://cognition.maxplanckschools.org/en

The Department of Comparative Cultural Psychology (CCP) at the MPI-EVA studies children across diverse human societies as well as non-human great apes species, to understand uniquely human cultural diversity and the universal cognitive mechanisms that enable and constrain it.

We encourage outstanding students with strong academic experience in areas related to developmental psychology, cross-cultural psychology or animal cognition to apply to this program by December 1st, 2023 .
