High coverage Chagyrskaya Neandertal

Introduction

Chagyrskaya is a cave located on the Charysh River, in the Altai mountains, about 100km from Denisova Cave (Russia). We sequenced the genome of a Neandertal distal manual phalanx from this cave to high coverage (~28x).

Download and data usage restrictions

The genome is freely available at the ftp address linked here. This ftp site contains the data for the 28x coverage genome. All data is freely available, under the Ft. Lauderdale principles. This clause entitles the data producers (the Department of Evolutionary Genetics of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, lead by Svante Pääbo) to make the first presentation and publish the first genome-wide analysis of the data. The data can be used freely for studies of individual genes or other individual features of the genome.

Description of the data

A readme with information about the data can be found here. Data are available in vcf and bam format. A mask to ensure data quality can be found in bed format here. The criteria used to generate this mask are described in the README file present in the same folder.
